Red Bank Wedding Walk, March 12, 2011

Our third Red Bank Wedding Walk is coming up on March 12, 2011...be sure to come!! It is a fun filled day with over 300 Brides to be expected.. and bridesmaids...and Mothers of the brides...and grooms..etc...it is Bridal madness!! lol...

You will start off the day at the Molly Pitcher Inn and get a tote bag & a map. From there, the Brides are transported, via trolley car or limosine, into town where you will proceed along the Wedding Walk route and visit the participating stores on the map. Once there, we will stamp your "Passport" and send you off to the next location. When you have finished your day, you will end up at the Oyster Point for a reception and the Grand Prize Raffles.

but....each store that you visit will have something special going on that day...

Here at Shore Chic we will have Live Entertainment, Food, Cocktails, Bridal Bouquets and centerpieces on display provided by Katydid Florist, Cake tastings by Eat Cake in Matawan, and lots of other surprises..

A New Year....

I can't believe a whole year has gone by since we've opened our retail store in Red Bank! Things have been going so well, we are as busy as ever, and I haven't been able to keep up with my blog! lol...so sorry.

I"d like to Thank all of our 2010 Brides for making this past year so much fun. It is such a pleasure to work with each & every one of you and to help to make your "beachy" dreams come true. I look forward to our 2011 Brides to be and even our 2012 girls! We love early planners! We have tons of new beach wedding products and ideas going up on our website as we speak, so keep watching....

The store itself has been ever evolving and is now PACKED with beachy home decor, jewelry, handbags, tabletop, beautiful signs, linens etc....We get new shipments in daily.....(I am a shopaholic..lol.. )

We are always on the lookout for unique & chic products that you won't find "everywhere", so stop in if you are in our area. We are also working on a second website to showcase all of our fabulous finds, so for those of you who loved our original ideas for your wedding, you can now continue to shop for all things Shore Chic for your home!! We are Open!!

Please stop by and see our beautiful new retail store Shore Chic, 50 English Plaza, Red Bank, NJ, o7701. We have hundreds of new items in our shop that are not yet available on our website.

We are open 7 days a week....from 10 am until 9pm.

On Saturday, March 20th, Red Bank will be holding it's First annual Wedding Walk!

Brides may register at the Molly Pitcher Inn at 9 am and will receive map and a tote bag. You may then follow the map and visit all of the participating stores, 35 in all, and get a "litttle something" in your tote at every place you visit!! Exciting News!!

Hello Brides to be! I am so excited to announce that we are opening a retail store in Red Bank, New Jersey....We have just signed the lease and have alot of setting up to do, but it is a beautiful shop and we are looking to be ready to open by March 1st. I can't wait for you all too see. We will have all of our new products available in our shop. (We are still working on getting them up on the website!!) It's been crazy around here. Just got back from my buying spree..I can't wait for you to see what I have found!! Lot's of fabulous jewelry for beach weddings, sterling starfish necklaces, perfect for your bridal party, Natural shell and coral statement pieces..a line of freshwater pearl earrings, bracelets and necklaces, and a beautiful line of high fashion cubic zirconia earrings and necklaces..Also, we now have about 100 new tabletop lanterns in wood, stainless steel, glass..so many beautiful designs, perfect for beach centerpieces. We have found new glass hurricanes as well, in all shapes and sizes. Fill them with sand, a pillar candle, starfish and shells..or beach stones...easy and beautiful. We have also found fantastic beach stone table runners. There are chalkboard placecards, glass trays for your starfish escort cards, a new line of handbags and totes,tons of new items!! Wow....What a fantastic, super busy year we have had....Thank you again for all of your kind words and enthusiasm about our website and our products....We appreciate it! But...we have been so busy, we haven't been able to update our site with the ton of beautiful new Beach themed items we have found throughout the year! So, it is now time... we will be updating our pages regularly. For all of you 2010 Brides, there are exciting new things coming to Shore Chic. Table top lanterns, the perfect ocean side centerpiece, Mother of Pearl handbags and sterling silver jewelry. We have gone Monogram crazy with a wide variety of personalized products, monogrammed tote bags, beach towels, pashmina shawls, groomsman gifts, beautiful monogrammed jewelry and more! Hello Brides to be!

I started this blog to keep everyone up to date on what's New here at Shore Chic, but we have been so busy here...it's unbelievable! I am so happy that you all love our website and our products. Thank you all so much for allowing me to do what I love and for loving what we do! We have tons of new and exciting things going up on the site in the next few weeks, so keep checking back. Here is a little sneak preview at a few new items.......

We have had numerous calls looking for adirondack chair cake toppers....we have finally found them! They will be going up on the site in a few days...They are soo cute and look adorable with our white chocolate seashells.

Fabulous Custom Painted Wedding Signs are coming!

We can customize them as well to include the Bride & Grooms name and wedding date..
Hang our "This way to the Wedding" sign along the path to your beach ceremony, our cupcakes or chocolate signs can be used at your candy buffet or hang our mini Bride & Groom signs from ribbon or tulle on the chairs at your sweetheart table. We will have lots of options to choose from. You will love them all!
All of these signs are handmade, painted and distressed and are perfect for any beach themed event.

Chocolate Seashells

Who doesn't like chocolate?? We have had a huge response to our chocolate seashell favors.....I must have made a thousand favor bags in the last 2 weeks!! We've added new Chocolate shapes and colors to our line. We have lighthouses, anchors, sailboats, crabs, lobsters, palm trees, new seashell shapes, seahorses..etc..it's a tropical chocolate paradise!

We've finally started our new "Shore Chic Brides" page! If you have purchased any of our beautiful beach themed items in the past, starfish escort tags and sand box trays, beach lantern card boxes, flower girl baskets, favors, etc..and would like to be seen on our website, send us your photos after your wedding and we will publish them on our website. It is a great way to show our products being used at actual weddings and to give all of you "brides to be" some new ideas. Be sure to include a photo of the new Mr. & Mrs........
We've also added testimonials to the page as well. It has been such a pleasure working with you all and we appreciate all of your kind words.

Hello Brides to be!

Shore Chic began last year as a Beach Theme Wedding accessories Website. We attend Bridal shows throughout the New Jersey area as well, where we show a sampling of our products.

After many phone calls from all of you, asking "What are your store hours?" and not having a storefront, we have decided to hold an "Open House" for you to come and view our beautiful beach themed accessories, meet other brides-to-be and share your ideas. Some of you have just recently discovered us through our website but many of you have been to our bridal shows in the past and would now like to see What's New or place an order in a more casual setting. We will have most of our products on display, including Our New line of favors for 2009, New Sand Castle Centerpieces, Our Jewels of the Sea Jewelry Collection, Starfish / Sand Dollar escort card samples, Parasol and fans and more!
We will also have our Custom Seashell Flower girl baskets, Sand Box trays, and Ring Bearer Nautilus shells available for purchase that day.

Busy, Busy, Busy..........

Here at Shore Chic, our Beach theme Wedding Season is almost upon us! We have been getting tons of calls, emails and orders and I would like to Thank you again for all of your compliments, we are as excited about our new business as you are! This has been a fabulous first year for us and things will only get better as we are in the process of adding a shopping cart to our website for all of you night owls, while adding hundreds of New products in the process as well. Here is a tiny sampling of some of the beautiful, brand new items we are adding to our Favor line... So many beautiful new things, I can't wait for you all to see them! Within the next month or so our new website should be up and running. We are working day and night to bring you the best selection of beautiful beach theme products available. Wedding Wish Trees

Here is a fabulous idea to replace the standard guest book. One of the latest wedding trends is a "Wedding Wish Tree". It can be as elaborate as you like yet very simple to do.

Start by doing a search for branches and you will find many types, sizes and finishes available, depending on the look you are going for and how tall you would like it to be. I like the sandblasted Manzanita branches, they almost look like driftwood and are perfect for a Beach Themed Wedding. Prices vary, but be aware the shipping can be a little costly depending on the size you choose. The majority of websites with these branches are in California. With that considered, it is still worth the extra money, as the effect is just lovely. The rest of your costs to make a tree should be minimal, as you only need a pot or container to "plant" it in and cards for your guests to write their wishes on.

To make the tree, try fitting the branch or branches into a foam block first and then placing it snuggly in your container. Now fill it with rocks, seaglass or seashells,etc... If your branches are tall, and you want it more secure, purchase plaster of paris and following the directions, fill your container, let it dry and then cover with moss, rocks, shells etc..
You can also swag crystal or beaded garlands across the branches or attach silk flowers sparsly or birds, butterflies, etc..depending on your theme.

Tags can easily be made by any DIY bride. Print on cardstock or buy ready made tags and stamp them with a pretty florish, monogram, or seashell image, etc...then holepunch each tag and attach ribbon in different lengths, and perhaps a charm or crystal bead to each tag. Leave them on the table with a few markers or pens for your guests to leave their wishes. When they are finished, they can tie them onto a branch. You can start with a few already hanging so they will get the idea. Perhaps frame a quote to set nearby saying something like "Please leave your wishes for the New Mr. & Mrs."

After your wedding, arrange your wish tags in a scrapbook, add photos of your guests next to their wishes and you will have a perfect remembrance of your beautiful day.

A Little About Us....

My love of antiques began when I was a young girl. I was enamored with the quality of the workmanship of these objects, in the beautiful intriquite detailing and I would imagine the stories they could tell! I also began collecting New Jersey shore memorabilia and have aquired many items, from the late 1800's on, that portay beautiful images of our beaches and boardwalks, with the old Flapper girl style bathing beauties on antique posters, pamphlets, photographs, advertising & postcards. I have learned of the rich history of our New Jersey shores, (starting with Atlantic City in it's heyday where the first boardwalk was built in 1870!) and of what a beautiful and exciting time it was as people flocked here from all around the country to see our shores, walk the boards and thrill on the rides .... and still do!

It was only fitting that Shore Chic originally began as an Antiques & Gift shop. In 2003, we opened our beautiful, beachy little shop in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Filled with shabby chic furniture and true antiques, architectural salvage and furniture made from reclaimed items, counters and cabinets made from old windows, shutters and doors, we set out to excite and enlighten people with our our facination of old things and the stories behind them. We found new uses for old items, giving them a new life. Mixed in were new gift items, many of which were made from recycled vintage items, such as wall frames made from old boatwood, tiffany lamps made with seashells, Handbags made from old chenille blankets and vintage fabrics, furniture and mirrors encrusted with seashells, weather vanes and of course, amusement park and shore related items. Our shop was honored to be featured in New Jersey Countryside magazine the first year we opened! We sadly closed our doors after 4 wonderful years but are now excited to embark on our new venture, Shore Chic Bridal.

With my love for the shore and through my years of experience in party planning and decorating, I have learned that the market for beach themed wedding items was expanding and yet the quality and choice of products available was limited. My goal is to have a beach themed bridal shop with a little of the Shore Chic antique shop mixed in and to create beautiful unique, handcrafted items that you will not find elsewhere. I love to seek out new items that are not necessarily sold as bridal items but that work well with a beach themed wedding. I will also try to incorporate a bit of the history, the beauty and the romance that is the Jersey Shore into all that we do.

I've started this blog to keep you all updated on whats New here at Shore Chic and to show you inexpensive ways to have the beach themed wedding of your dreams. This past year (almost!) has been such a pleasure, getting to work with so many wonderful "Brides to Be", sharing in your excitement and finding ways to bring your ideas to life. The response we have received so far has been overwhelming. I appreciate all of your compliments and look forward to providing you with a beautiful one stop Beach Wedding Shop!
I love what I do and look forward to the New Year ahead and all that it may bring.
